Director of Choirs - Melissa Small
A native of Yardley, Bucks County, Melissa received her Bachelor of Science degree in Music Therapy with a principal in Voice from Elizabethtown College in 1998. Upon graduation from E-town, she completed an internship and was hired as a Music Therapist at Bethany Children's Home in Womelsdorf, Pa. After the birth of her son in 2005, Melissa became a stay at home mom and began her position at St. Daniel's Lutheran Church as director of the Sr. Hand Bell Choir. In January 2014, she accepted the position of Director of Choirs at St. Daniel's. She is also the Library Technical Assistant at Green Valley Elementary School.
Melissa enjoys being involved in her son's middle school by volunteering for various school events, and fulfills her desire to serve the community as an active member of the Junior League of Reading. She also volunteers for the Cacoosing District, Hawk Mountain Council of the Boy Scouts of America. In her spare time, she enjoys singing and performing with various community ensembles, and recently joined the chamber choir Vox Philia. She lives in Sinking Spring with her husband Brad and their son, Benjamin.
